Good Morning!Good news for the U.S. stock market as futures rose on Wednesday morning, following a decline caused by higher bond yields. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures experienced a surge of 164 points, which translates to a 0.5% increase. S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures also saw gains of 0.74% and 0.83%, respectively. However, not all companies were so lucky. Micron shares slipped during extended trading after the semiconductor manufacturer missed expectations on both the top and bottom lines in its latest quarter, as per consensus estimates. But on the flip side, Lululemon shares soared by an impressive 12% after exceeding Wall Street's estimates for adjusted earnings and revenue. The Nasdaq Composite wasn't so fortunate and ended Tuesday's regular session down by 0.45% for the second straight day. The S&P 500 also fell by 0.16%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average lost 37.83 points, or 0.12%. Some investors expressed concern that higher interest rates could trigger an economic recession, despite Wall Street's efforts to move past this month's regional banking crisis. These worries are not without merit as the yield on the 2-year U.S. Treasury note increased above 4%, which weighed heavily on interest-rate sensitive tech stocks.
